*grin* for me that's for business type software. So yeah I was young pirate.Īs for reasons. Not for money but basically for fun (games, using software from Europe and watching how they worked), however I do remember tallying how much the pirated software was worth.(I still do) and it was about $420 worth.

During my early teen years I did it quite a lot. I'm not proud of that fact, but as a poor student, I didn't really have much of a choice. I have in the past used pirated copies of Office though. I am thoroughly impressed with those pieces of software. I will however be purchasing OS X 10.5, iLife 08, and the new iWorks. I've never done anything commercial with it. I personally can't justify buying the Adobe suite for the little putzing around I do on it. If you make money with the software, buy it. I do, however, draw the line when it comes to business uses. I have given (very, very good) friends copies of software in the past. You can remain anonymous or you can be cool like me and voice your opinion and such.Ĭurrently I have software I have purchased and software that is, without a shadow of a doubt, pirated. I figured we haven't had enough conflict in The Lounge this week, so we might as well poke the hibernating bear - View image here:.
